Opportunity Overview
The University of Salford is home to one of the UK’s largest centres of teaching and research in journalism.
We are recruiting a graduate intern to join us at MediaCity, to spend a year as the editor of Salford Now, our multiplatform journalism outlet for the city of Salford.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational journalist with a fast-developing record of creating original journalism across media.
You must be a qualified journalist who has recently completed, or is about to finish, an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Salford.
Key Responsibilities
Acting as the editor of our Salford Now website, email newsletter and associated social channels
Developing story ideas and creating original journalism from and about the city of Salford
Producing high-quality storytelling across platforms
Helping staff colleagues and student journalists, especially during live newsdays
Identifying new opportunities to develop Salford Now and its profile
