The role also supports journalism students, develops story ideas, and helps grow the publication's audience and profile.Opportunity OverviewThe University of Salford is home to one of the UK’s largest centres of teaching and research in journalism.We are recruiting a graduate intern to join us at MediaCity, to spend a year as the editor of Salford Now, our multiplatform journalism outlet for the city of Salford.We’re looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational journalist with a fast-developing record of creating original journalism across media.You must be a qualified journalist who has recently completed, or is about to finish, an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Salford. Key ResponsibilitiesActing as the editor of our Salford Now website, email newsletter and associated social channelsDeveloping story ideas and creating original journalism from and about the city of SalfordProducing high-quality storytelling across platformsHelping staff colleagues and student journalists, especially during live newsdaysIdentifying new opportunities to develop Salford Now and its profile About the SchoolJournalism and PR at the University of Salford is part of the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology.
