About the opportunity
Due to recent growth, we are seeking new talent to join our team delivering UK and International motorsports, sports and leisure projects . The ideal candidate will have the ability to split their work across our track design, master planning and Civil Engineering team, giving a unique opportunity to develop your design or engineering career with a motorsports specialism.
The primary focus of the role will range from undertaking conceptual layout design, to developing these to engineering packages under the guidance of Principals within the business. A strong focus of the role will be producing designs in 2D & 3D within industry standard software packages as well as developing accompanying details and specifications.
This role would suit a candidate with experience or an interest in either master planning/urban design, civil engineering or motorsport engineering. A strong passion & knowledge of motorsport is essential.
A typical week could include:
Providing concept design support to early stage feasibility projects
Contributing & attending design workshops (remote/ in person UK / in person overseas)
Developing new site plan concepts in CAD format from sketch form to scaled CAD drawings
Preparing design reports and presentations to communicate our designs
Reviewing simulation design data to enhance our race tracks designs
Developing 3D designs of proposed venues
Assisting the design team in preparing specifications, engineering details and detailed design reports
What you’ll be doing
Working as a Graduate Engineer on large scale motorsport tracks, test tracks or private automotive driving venues as well as our growing sports/leisure sector.
The role will involve working closely with our inhouse Designers, Architects and CAD technicians, reporting to a Principal.
Working under the guidance of a Principal to implement company protocols, procedures and engineering solutions.
Working in a variety of software packages to generate CAD design drawings, reports, presentations and graphics
Assisting in the preparation of engineering designs and specifications
Attendance at site visits, design workshops and meetings with clients and Driven staff in the UK and overseas
Assisting in the design of aspects outside of track design, including site layouts and other design projects.
Helping to refine working protocols such as creating working templates, document templates, design procedures, IT procedures.
Your skills and experience
Ideally, you’ll hold a degree in Civil Engineering (BEng/Bsc/MEng/Msc), Motorsport, or Mechanical Engineering.
Ideally, you’ll be experienced working in a design role - producing technical design drawings on major infrastructure, masterplans, planning or civil engineering projects within a design consultancy environment – this may include short term work experience roles or ‘Year in Industry’ placements.
Experience of producing reports & presentations
Willingness to work towards working independently, and open to training in new areas of design across our company.
Confident in articulating designs and technical content to non-technical personnel and clients.
Experience in the use of one or more of: Microstation or AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Adobe Suite, Blender or other similar industry software.
