Benefits: 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays’, company pension and other benefits
Align Property Services is creating a brand-new Graduate AI & Automation Analyst role to help shape how artificial intelligence and automation are used across our business.
We’re looking for someone who is genuinely enthusiastic about AI, with a natural curiosity for how emerging technologies can be applied in practical ways to improve how people and organisations work.
This is a unique opportunity to join an award‑winning, multidisciplinary property consultancy and play an active part in improving efficiency, productivity and digital capability across our teams. With clients at the core of our approach, you’ll contribute directly to the successful delivery of projects, ensuring exceptional client experiences and reinforcing our position as a leading consultancy.
This role has been created to identify practical opportunities for AI and automation, support the rollout of Microsoft 365 Copilot and related tools, and help develop internal solutions that make every day work simpler, faster and more consistent. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business, gaining hands‑on experience in applied AI, digital improvement and change delivery.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of North Yorkshire Council, we’re one of the largest and most respected building design consultancies in the North of England. Our collaborative, forward thinking team delivers a wide range of services, including:
Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
Civil, Structural, Highways & Drainage Engineering
Architecture & Sustainability
Building Surveying & Project Management
Quantity Surveying & CDM
Transport Planning, Bridges & Estate Management
The Opportunity
As a Graduate AI & Automation Analyst, working closely with our colleagues the Technology and Change team at North Yorkshire Council and our department leads, you’ll support the identification, testing and rollout of AI tools, internal agents and automated workflows that deliver real business value. This is a development role, designed to help you build capability through practical experimentation, guided delivery and collaboration with experienced professionals, external specialists and our AI working group.
You’ll focus on how AI can be used responsibly and effectively in a professional services environment, helping teams reduce repetitive tasks, improve quality and make better use of knowledge and data to improve the service and project delivery for all our clients.
The type of early work you may be involved in is helping to build internal AI tools that support quality assurance of technical documents, structure photographic and survey evidence into draft outputs for review, compare contractor quotations against agreed schedules or benchmarks, and identify inconsistencies or omissions in project information so these can be checked by qualified staff.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working with department heads to understand current processes and identify opportunities for AI and automation
Supporting the rollout and adoption of Microsoft 365 Copilot and approved AI tools
Helping design, test and refine internal AI agents, prompts and workflows
Capturing feedback, measuring benefits and supporting wider adoption across the business
Producing clear documentation, guidance and basic training materials
Supporting responsible, secure and well‑governed use of AI
What We’re Looking For
A graduate (or equivalent capability) in a relevant subject, with a strong interest in AI, automation and digital improvement
Confident using Microsoft 365 tools in a professional environment
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to break down business processes
Clear communicator who can explain ideas to non‑technical colleagues
Organised, curious and keen to learn in a fast‑evolving area
Experience with AI tools, Copilot, automation, scripting or digital projects is welcome, but enthusiasm, logic and a willingness to learn are just as important.

We're responsible for education, social care, health, highways, libraries, trading standards and household waste recycling centres as well as hundreds of other services to a population of circa 600,000 residents. Our residents are represented by 72 elected members and the council is Conservative controlled. We are on a journey of change and modernisation over the next five years, changing the ways that we engage with the public and the ways that we work with communities in general. Whilst the challenges ahead are not to be under-estimated, there will be positive opportunities to be more efficient, to do many things better and smarter than we have before and ways of working that are better for our service areas. As we shape the organisation of the future, we will do so around core principles including: • Putting customers at the heart of all we do • Enabling stronger communities • Working in partnership • Ensuring value for money • Valuing and investing in staff • Being an innovative and learning organisation
