The Role

Hutchison Ports – Port of Felixstowe is the UK’s largest deep water container port and a major gateway for global trade. As the Business Continuity Graduate, you will hone and develop your expertise in Business Continuity, Emergency Planning and organisational resilience.

The role holder will receive exposure to the continuity planning, emergency preparedness and Emergency Response Unit (ERU) operations – while providing support to the ERU Business Continuity Manager and ERU department on a day-to-day basis.

Role Overview

Key responsibilities

  • Working to aide with maintaining and developing the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), including controlled documentation and update cycles.

  • Support day‑to‑day coordination of the ERU including rostering, clinical & personnel records, certification tracking and equipment documentation.

  • Assist in the planning, coordination and evaluation of resilience exercises, simulations and multi‑agency drills.

  • Assist with budget monitoring, procurement activities and cost‑tracking for continuity and ERU functions.

  • Participate in the collection, analysis and reporting of ERU and BC performance data including KPIs, compliance indicators and audit findings.

What you need

  • Graduate-level qualifications (minimum 2:1 expected).

  • Able to competently use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project).

  • Strong organisational, analytical, confidentiality and adaptability skills.

  • Collaborate when working across all levels and parts of the business to build constructive relationships.

  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal presentation skills.

Shifts & Pay

  • Basic salary: Starting from £30,000 per annum

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday
