Based out of the UK's largest deep-water container port, this graduate-level commercial role focuses on supporting the management of nominated shipping line, rail, and RoRo accounts to drive volume and financial growth.Hutchison Ports – Port of Felixstowe is the UK’s largest deep water container port and a major gateway for global trade. The Commercial department works collaboratively with all departments within the business, our customers, & other key stakeholders. Providing support by dealing with the customer directly on selected day-to-day issues.Identify, evaluate, and report on potential new business opportunities derived from external contacts and media sources.Building own market awareness of the advantages, facilities and added value services on offer to cargo-owners at the Port. Also building and understanding knowledge of competitors UK terminal operators.Producing regular and/ or ad hoc reports when required. As well as statistical and analytical data accuracy in a timely manner.Establish relationships & build rapport with customers at the appropriate level of contact. Through regular dialogue with internal and external stakeholders, maintain close working relationships to allow continual improvement. What you needMust hold a bachelor’s degree.Previous experience in a customer facing environment, dealing sensitively and effectively with a range of potential customer issues.Must be able to work efficiently with data/ statistics and able to work under pressure and meeting required deadlines. Using analysis to make job related decisions and prioritise work in line with business requirements.Working knowledge of using Microsoft Office; including Excel and PowerPoint.Able to manage changing circumstances on a regular basis, whilst reacting to work related situations in a timely manner using own initiative to solve problems.Effective formal and informal communications required in all verbal and written forms via all available media to both internal and external parties.
