APTUS is a 4-year apprenticeship programme combining college study and on-the-job training in the energy industry, where you earn while learning and specialise in areas like electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, or process operations.

The APTUS Programme lasts up to 48 months and is split into two stages. Apprentices will spend 21 months at college, followed by two years on-the-job training at one of our UK based sponsoring companies.

Being an apprentice gives you the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications, combined with practical training with some of the most innovative energy companies in the world.

As an APTUS apprentice you will:

  • Study towards related qualifications 📝

  • Work alongside experience staff 👷‍♀️

  • Gain job-specific skills ⚙️

  • Earn while you learn 💰

Through a random selection process, apprentices will either be part of the programme under OPITO or ECITB.

OPITO, the skills organisation for the energy industry, manage the programme on behalf of the operating companies, whilst the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) manage on behalf of the contracting companies.

The apprenticeship is offered in four disciplines. When applying you will be asked to state your discipline preference, however, your first choice cannot be guaranteed.

  • Electrical Maintenance 🔌

  • Instrumentation and Control Maintenance 🎛️

  • Mechanical Maintenance 🔧

  • Process Operations🛢️
