Modelling and Analytics Assurance - Banking & Capital Markets

A graduate role in Deloitte’s audit team using data analytics, coding, and financial modelling to analyse and validate banking data and improve audit quality for large financial institutions.

What does this team do?

Delivery of audit and assurance work for the UK’s largest banking and financial institutions increasingly relies on comprehensive understanding of large datasets, complex financial models, and the resulting reports.

The Banking and Capital Markets Specialists Modelling (BCM SM) team enhances the capabilities of our Audit and Assurance teams by providing the requisite expertise for the analysis, interpretation, and validation of data and models obtained from the businesses we engage with.

Leveraging cloud-native technology and our expanding library of tools, we automate complex analytics and deliver insights through advanced modelling. This enhances audit quality and efficiency, transforming the future of audit.

This role is crucial in ensuring we remain at the forefront of audit innovation, leveraging data and technology to deliver exceptional service.

What skills and academic qualifications do I need?

You will need to have obtained or be studying towards a minimum 2:1 in a STEM discipline and have graduated by Summer 2026 for the Autumn 2026 intake.

On a daily basis, you would be involved in modelling customer behaviour, performing re-calculations, automating analytics, carrying out data integrity checks and delivering insights from large volumes of data across different clients.

Where will I work?

At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working.

You might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.

How will I develop?

Skills

We invest heavily in your development. Through practical, on-the-job experience, you will gain expertise across a comprehensive suite of data analytics tools, including SQL, Python, Tableau, VBA, SAS, Git, and Azure DevOps.

You will also cultivate a deep understanding of various financial products ranging from secured loans to derivatives.  Your role will also foster the development of essential soft skills such as communication, critical thinking, decision-making, resilience, project management, and leadership.

Professional Qualifications

As part of your graduate opportunity, you will be required to study towards the globally recognised Financial Risk Management (FRM) qualification. This will significantly expand your knowledge and expertise, giving you the confidence to excel in our audit practice.

Whilst professional exams can be challenging, and will require a commitment from you, we in turn commit to providing you with the right support network to help you succeed. You will be given funded top-quality tuition, with a mix of classroom and self-managed learning sessions, a dedicated early careers coach, a People Leader and access to support from our professional education team.

The qualification consists of six multiple-choice exams, you will be entitled to a maximum of two attempts at each exam. We will cover the cost of all mandated courses, permitted exam attempts and membership fees required for your Professional Qualification. We will also provide a specified amount of paid study leave to undertake the exams required.
