Graduate Engineer (Bridge & Structures)

We're growing our Bridge Structures team across UK and looking for a Graduate Engineer to be part of it. You'll work across some of the UK's most prestigious bridge and infrastructure programmes, collaborating with experienced engineers who will support your journey toward Chartership through a tailored, personally driven development plan.

Furthermore, you will be:

• Producing structural designs, assessments, and evaluations for a diverse range of bridge projects — from concept through to detailed design

• Preparing structural calculations, technical reports, and specifications in line with relevant codes and standards

• Reviewing and checking calculations and drawings produced by other engineers, developing your technical eye for detail

• Performing a wide variety of engineering tasks, including interpreting site data and survey results, conducting structural analysis, creating calculation methods, and working with team members to produce high-quality, technically sound work

• Planning and prioritising your workload with support from your project manager, tracking and reporting progress against project budget and programme

• Overseeing your responsibilities and using diligent self-checks to maintain strong accuracy and quality

• Attending site visits to bridges and structures, and representing the team in client meetings and design reviews

On top of that, you’ll have: 

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree (BEng, BSc, MEng, or MSc) in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline — either completed or due to be awarded this summer .

• A genuine interest in becoming a Chartered Engineer, with the motivation and commitment to get there

• Some practical experience in an engineering environment, whether through a year in industry, summer placements, or a dissertation/final year project with real-world application

• Familiarity with UK design standards, Eurocodes, or equivalent — particularly those relevant to structural and bridge engineering

• A working understanding of CDM Regulations, specifically the duties and responsibilities of designers

• Established involvement in structural engineering and bridge design, with a focus on technical excellence and ongoing skill development

• The ability to work effectively within diverse, multi-disciplinary project teams — comfortable collaborating with structural, geotechnical, and civil engineers as well as architects and contractors
