Trainee Surveyor

About the Role

Construo Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading technology-driven surveying company to recruit a Trainee Surveyor. This is a unique opportunity for graduates, undergraduates, or high-potential individuals to begin a career in the surveying and digital data capture industry—no prior experience required.

You will gain hands-on experience using cutting-edge technology, working on a wide range of projects across the UK and internationally. The role offers excellent progression, with clear pathways into specialist roles such as 3D Surveyor, Land Surveyor, Utility Surveyor, or BIM Technician.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in 3D digital data capture using advanced surveying equipment

• Support topographical, utility, and site surveys

• Learn and apply techniques such as laser scanning and underground utility detection (GPR/EFL)

• Process survey data and contribute to CAD and BIM modelling

• Produce 2D and 3D drawings from captured data

• Work on a variety of projects across multiple locations

• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver accurate and high-quality outputs

Requirements

• Strong academic background (GCSEs and A-Levels or equivalent)

• Keen interest in surveying, engineering, or technology

• High attention to detail and a methodical approach

• Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills

• Positive attitude with strong work ethic

• Good communication skills and ability to work within a team

• Full UK driving licence (essential)

• Willingness to travel and occasionally work away from home

Desirable

• Degree or studies in a related field (not essential)

• Interest in CAD, BIM, or digital technologies
