This is a Controls Systems Engineering Apprenticeship at AVL where you work on automotive powertrain control systems, software testing, and vehicle electronics while studying toward a Level 6 engineering qualification.As a Controls Systems Apprentice at AVL, you will embark on an exciting journey to develop your engineering skills within a supportive and dynamic environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while pursuing formal training through a Level 6 Controls Systems apprenticeship.We are seeking an apprentice with a proactive attitude, who is keen to learn and highly motivated to support and thrive in the area of Control Systems. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:• Support powertrain control development, including requirements definition and development• Support automotive network definition, integration and commissioning • Support the software verification and validation in various test environments• Create and maintain project documentation throughout the life cycle of the project• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, team members, sales representatives and suppliers• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standardsYOUR PROFILE: Essential:• A-level in:o Mathematics (grade B or above)o Another A level at grade C or above in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or Design & Technologyo English (grade C or above)• Strong organizational and time management skills• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)• A proactive and problem-solving mindset• Eligibility to enroll in a Level 6 apprenticeship programPreferable:• Relevant Work Experience: Previous internships or work experience in a technology related role• General automotive knowledge or electric powertrain componentsWE OFFER:• Flexi-time (applies to most roles)• Private Medical Insurance and Health Cash Plan • 22 days holiday per year (increases by 1 day annually up to the max. of 28 days)• Special occasion leave (eligibility after probation, subject to conditions)• Pension scheme • Life Assurance If an offer of employment is made, applicants are required to undergo a DBS check.
