Support geotechnical and geo-environmental investigations, site assessments, laboratory testing, data analysis, and technical reporting while developing engineering solutions for ground engineering and construction projects.We have exciting opportunities for Graduate Geotechnical Engineers to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor.The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and a fantastic opportunity to begin your career alongside the support offered from our vastly experienced team.What you'll be doing:Undertake geotechnical analytical work, from planning, execution and reporting of Geo-Environmental and Geotechnical site investigationsAssist with various field activities including assessment and analysis of geotechnical conditions and investigationsInvolvement in laboratory testing programmes for soil and rock samplesPrepare and assist with reviewing, analysing and interpreting geotechnical dataAssist with report writing and technical notesUndertake Research & Development projects including developing innovative engineering tools and solutionsImplement operational quality control measures and quality assurance processesTake a proactive approach in the responsibility for Health and SafetyAttend regular meetings with internal and external partiesUndertake contaminated land assessment and site remediation using appropriate technical skillsConduct soil and groundwater risk assessments, liaising with clients and regulatorsWorking collaboratively with engineers and other technicians to deliver quality evidence led reportsConduct self in a way that reflects and promotes the Van Elle company values.Who we're looking for:A minimum 2:2 BSc (Hons) in Geology, Civil Engineering or related subjectPrevious practical construction experience (desirable)Experience with AutoCAD preferableIT competent in Microsoft packagesValid CSCS would be beneficial.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure.Good attention to detail and accuracy of workEffective planning and organisation skillsA structured approach to problem solving.Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Knowledge of the relevant legal and safety regulationsOther Requirements:Eligible to work and live in the UK.Flexibility to travel in the UK.A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK (essential)What you’ll get in return:Competitive salary depending on experience.Hours of work are 7.30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday however flexibility is required25 days holiday plus bank/public holidays.Permanent positionBenefits include access to Company pension, bonus scheme and Healthcare Cash Plan with family option.Onsite Training Centre offers ongoing training and development opportunities.Access to our 24-hour confidential employee support line.
