Operating within a multidisciplinary engineering team across the South West region, this entry-level position focuses on conducting site surveys, performing engineering calculations, and developing sustainable, best-value electrical and power distribution design solutions under the mentorship of a Project Engineer.
We are seeking two motivated, proactive individuals who are eager to immerse themselves in our electrical engineering team and develop their skills on the job.
As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will work under the guidance of a Project Engineer, supporting the delivery of technical solutions that meet the project brief. You will help ensure all outputs are fit for purpose, meet required specifications, and remain compliant with company standards.
What you'll do
As part of the team, you will use your academic, technical skills and practical knowledge to support the development of best-value designs.
You'll also:
undertake site surveys and investigation works across our region
carry out engineering calculations and the optioneering of solutions
attend workshops and regular design meetings to review design proposals and consider issues such as buildability, commissioning, and stakeholder needs
collaborate throughout the design process with our civil, mechanical and electrical engineering teams, providing design input and advice where appropriate
investigate and apply innovative and sustainable approaches to help the client drive efficiency.
You'll also be key in assisting the Project Engineer in identifying the project phases and elements, and highlighting the resources required to enable project delivery.
What you'll need
You will be professionally qualified in, or working towards, an electrical or power-related discipline and have a 2:1 or higher degree qualification in a relevant field.
If you are still working towards your qualification, you will need to be ready to start by September 2026.
You'll also have:
a proactive, flexible and can‑do approach with a willingness to challenge norms and drive continuous improvement
strong organisational skills and confident decision‑making abilities
excellent presentation, IT, and communication skills
a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as the role involves travelling across the south west.
