We are seeking Electrical, Mechanical or Material Engineering graduates for our Energy and Rail teams who are adaptable and eager to learn in a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory consultancy. You will enjoy a collaborative work environment, applying your skills for a variety of clients and projects.
Asset Management and Analysis
Working as a Graduate in Asset Management and Analysis team will mean working on exciting and innovative projects. This service line is composed of the Power Systems Consulting and Energy Strategy Consulting teams delivering services to our national and international clients and is comprised of circa 50 colleagues with a range of engineering and multidisciplinary skills.
Day-to-day activities could include:
Supporting the delivery of power system studies (load flow, fault level, stability, harmonics).
Assisting with grid connection support for renewable and storage developers.
Contributing to technical reports and client presentations.
Helping with project proposals and bid documents.
Learning to use specialist power system software (e.g. DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD).
Participating in multi-disciplinary project teams across the UK and internationally.
Supporting stakeholder engagement and client meetings.
Keeping up to date with emerging energy technologies and regulations.
Energy Networks
Working as a Graduate in Energy Networks will mean working on exciting and innovative projects, contributing to the engineering and delivery of the nation's energy future. It's an opportunity to gain knowledge and design critical infrastructure that will enable the UK's transition to a net-zero economy.
You would be involved in designing and implementing robust power networks that can handle the integration of clean, renewable energy sources, helping to ensure a stable and sustainable energy supply for the entire country.
Day-to-day activities could include:
Engineering Design Support: Assisting senior engineers with the design of electrical and civil components for transmission and distribution projects, including substations, overhead lines, and underground cable routes.
Feasibility Studies: Contributing to initial project assessments by conducting site surveys, analysing data, and helping to identify the most effective and sustainable engineering solutions.
Technical Reporting: Preparing and compiling technical reports, drawings, and specifications that document design choices, calculations, and project progress for clients like National Grid.
Site Visits and Inspections: Gaining hands-on experience by visiting project sites to survey existing infrastructure, monitor construction progress, and ensure work is being carried out to the required specifications and safety standards.
Project Management Assistance: Supporting project managers with tasks such as scheduling, cost tracking, and risk assessment to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Stakeholder Engagement: Assisting in communications with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate project activities and address any technical queries.
Continuous Learning: Staying up-to-date with the latest industry standards and engineering technologies.
Rail – Information Management
Our Rail, Information Management Team are tasked with solution-based delivery which includes working through and overcoming software challenges. This team drives Building Information Modelling (BIM), information management, and digital innovation across Transport & Infrastructure; transforming traditional practices into smart, efficient, and sustainable solutions.
As a Graduate in this team you will work alongside Digital Leaders, Engineers, Information Managers, and BIM Consultants on some of the most exciting projects. This is your chance to learn from experts, gain hands-on experience, and build a strong foundation for your career.
Day-to-day activities could include:
Support project teams with BIM Digital Advisory and strategy.
Coordinate and review BIM models for accuracy.
Work with ISO19650 standards and common data environments (e.g., BIM360 Docs).
Help implement workflows for digital collaboration.
Explore BIM software solutions and improve delivery efficiency.
Produce engineering models and drawings.
Act as a BIM Coordinator, resolving design issues.
Collaborate with UK and international teams.
