About the Scheme

This two-year fixed-term programme provides you with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a busy finance deparment.

You will:

• Undertake a substantive placement in a host department

• Complete a series of rotational placements across the department

• Work on meaningful projects with real impact

• Develop a broad set of transferable professional skills

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Graduate Trainee, you will be trusted with genuine responsibilities and the opportunity to contribute to the University’s operations.

Your role will include:

• Supporting the delivery of departmental objectives and key projects

• Conducting research, analysing information, and producing reports and presentations

• Contributing ideas and innovative solutions to improve processes and services

• Managing your workload effectively to meet deadlines and priorities

• Communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including staff, students, and external partners

• Supporting key University activities such as Open Days, Clearing, Graduation, and events

• Ensuring compliance with University policies, procedures, and relevant legislation

About you

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic graduate who is keen to learn, develop, and make a positive contribution.

You will:

• Be a recent graduate of the University of Greater Manchester (minimum 2:2 or postgraduate qualification) from 2024/2025 or 2025/2026. 

• Demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and organisational skills

• Be confident using Microsoft Office and digital tools

• Show the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Be proactive, adaptable, and willing to take on new challenges

• Have an interest in developing a career within a professional services environment
