Support the design and delivery of grid connection and electrical infrastructure projects for renewable energy and EV charging through a structured graduate development programme.

Are you a recent Electrical Engineering graduate looking to kick-start your career in the rapidly growing energy and infrastructure sector?

We're working with a leading engineering consultancy that is delivering some of the UK's largest infrastructure and decarbonisation programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team working on innovative projects that are helping shape the future of sustainable transport and energy infrastructure.

You'll receive hands-on mentoring from experienced engineers while gaining exposure to large-scale projects involving EV charging infrastructure, power networks, renewable energy integration and grid connections.

The Opportunity
As a Graduate Grid Connections Manager, you'll support the delivery of electrical infrastructure projects from concept through to completion. Working alongside experienced engineers and project teams, you'll develop a strong understanding of grid connections, electrical design, stakeholder management and project delivery.

This role offers excellent long-term career progression within one of the UK's fastest-growing sectors, giving you the opportunity to build technical expertise while contributing to the country's transition towards net zero.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the design and coordination of electrical infrastructure and grid connection projects.

  • Assisting with feasibility studies to assess network capacity and connection opportunities.

  • Liaising with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), Independent Connection Providers (ICPs), contractors and other external stakeholders.

  • Reviewing electrical designs and technical documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards.

  • Supporting the delivery of EV charging infrastructure projects from design through commissioning.

  • Assisting with testing, commissioning and technical assurance activities.

  • Helping integrate renewable energy technologies and battery storage solutions into electrical infrastructure projects.

  • Ensuring projects comply with current UK electrical regulations and safety standards.

  • Monitoring project progress and supporting reporting requirements.

  • Keeping up to date with developments in grid connections, renewable energy and electrical engineering.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and UK regulations (BS7671).

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Experience
Experience gained through placements, internships or university projects involving any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Power distribution or grid connections.

  • Renewable energy or battery energy storage.

  • EV charging infrastructure.

  • Electrical design software such as Amtech, Trimble or similar.

  • Working with DNOs, ICPs, EPC contractors or engineering consultancies.

What's On Offer

  • Hybrid and flexible working.

  • Competitive salary with annual reviews.

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

  • Private medical insurance.

  • Health cash plan.

  • Excellent pension.

  • Structured graduate development programme.

  • Ongoing training and mentoring from experienced engineers.

  • Clear career progression within a growing consultancy.

  • Opportunity to work on nationally significant energy and infrastructure projects.
