This engineering consultancy role focuses on providing technical support across the full project lifecycle, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions for public and private sector clients.

Launch your engineering career with a global consultancy delivering innovative solutions to some of the most complex water and infrastructure challenges. At Tetra Tech, you'll work on meaningful projects from day one, supported by experienced engineers, structured development opportunities, mentoring and professional chartership support.

Purpose & Scope of the Role

As a Graduate Water Engineer, you'll join a collaborative team delivering technical solutions across a diverse portfolio of water engineering projects. Working alongside experienced engineers and project leaders, you'll contribute to the design, review and delivery of engineering solutions while developing the skills, knowledge and experience needed for a successful professional career.

Your Impact in this Position

From the outset, you'll play an active role in project delivery, supporting engineering design, technical assessments and site investigations. You'll contribute to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, engage with clients and stakeholders, and help ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and best practice. This is an opportunity to make a genuine contribution while building a strong foundation for your future in water engineering.

Core Capabilities

  • Technical Engineering & Design: Support the design and development of water engineering solutions in line with relevant Eurocodes and British Standards. Contribute to technical reviews, design verification and engineering calculations. Utilise engineering software and digital tools to support project delivery.

  • Project Delivery & Quality: Assist in delivering projects to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards. Support design reviews and quality assurance processes. Help identify and resolve technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Site Investigation & Data Collection: Participate in site visits, inspections and engineering surveys. Gather and interpret technical information to inform design decisions. Support the development of practical, evidence-based engineering solutions.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with engineers, designers and project teams across disciplines. Build effective relationships with clients, contractors, architects and statutory bodies. Communicate technical information clearly and professionally.

  • Professional Development & Innovation: Take ownership of your professional growth and development. Embrace new technologies, engineering approaches and industry best practice. Work towards professional registration and chartership.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

You'll hold (or be on track to achieve) a minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, engineering design software and Microsoft Office is beneficial, as is any industry placement or work experience. Strong communication skills, self-motivation and a commitment to achieving Chartered Engineer status are highly desirable.

Working Environment

We offer a flexible and supportive working environment, combining office-based collaboration with hybrid working opportunities where project requirements allow. You'll work alongside experienced professionals in a modern engineering consultancy, with access to training, mentoring, networking opportunities and structured career development through our Early Careers Programme.

Applications close on Tuesday 30th June 2026.
