Mission:

We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to design, build, and integrate security, logging, and monitoring capabilities across corporate and product environments. This role is focused on engineering and enablement rather than operational response — you will ensure that systems produce the telemetry, integrations, and tooling required for effective detection and incident response.

You will work closely with analysts and incident responders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions across infrastructure and unmanned systems.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain logging and telemetry platforms (e.g. ELK/Kibana, Splunk)

  • Develop and manage log ingestion pipelines, parsing, and data normalization

  • Ensure high-quality, relevant telemetry is available to the SOC and internal teams

  • Integrate systems and security tooling via APIs and automation

  • Build scripts, services, and tooling to support detection and incident response

  • Work with analysts to implement detection requirements and improve visibility

  • Work with incident responders to address gaps identified during investigations

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to embed logging, monitoring, and security controls into systems

  • Continuously improve reliability, scalability, and performance of logging and monitoring infrastructure

  • Identify and resolve gaps in telemetry, data quality, and system integration

  • Enable dashboard development by ensuring high-quality, structured, and performant data is available within SIEM platforms

  • Build and maintain data pipelines, parsing, and integrations that support reliable visualization and querying

  • Optimize underlying systems to ensure dashboards are scalable, responsive, and accurate

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in computer science, cyber security, engineering, or a related technical field

  • Strong programming or scripting ability (Python, Go, or similar)

  • Experience building or integrating technical systems and services

  • Understanding of logging architectures, data pipelines, and telemetry concepts

  • Familiarity with Kibana (Elastic), Splunk, or similar platforms

  • Working knowledge of Linux, Windows, networking, and cloud environments

  • Comfort working with APIs, automation, and system integration

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to build practical solutions

Additional Context

This role underpins the effectiveness of both the SOC and internal security teams by ensuring the right data, integrations, and tooling are in place. When not delivering new capabilities, the role focuses on improving data quality, expanding telemetry coverage, and enhancing the systems that support detection and response

What we have to offer you:

  • An excellent work environment and an opportunity to make a difference.

  • Salary commensurate with level of experience.

  • Company pension contribution matched up to 10%.

  • 25 days annual holiday + 8 Bank holidays.

  • Medical Insurance.

  • Dental Insurance.

  • Salary sacrifice initiatives (EV Scheme, Cycle 2 Work, Tech Scheme)

  • Discretionary annual company bonus.
