Trainee Accountant

Graduate Trainee Accountant role supporting financial statement preparation and bookkeeping while working towards an ACA qualification within a professional accountancy firm

Due to ongoing development and growth, we have an exciting new role for a graduate Trainee Accountant to join our modern, centrally located Bournemouth office, close to rail and bus links. 

With training, you will be assisting with preparation of accounts for a portfolio of clients (individuals, sole traders, partnerships and trusts), and ensuring the accurate and efficient delivery of bookkeeping services. 

A fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to develop your career in accountancy and tax, you will be working towards an internationally recognised accounting qualification (ACA) whilst gaining valuable on-the-job experience with a highly respected accountancy firm. 

You will join a dynamic accounts team with a high quality client base and rapidly gain responsibility whilst at the same time completing your qualifications with us.  

Key responsibilities of a Trainee Accountant will include:

• Assisting with preparation of financial statements from client records 

• Processing basic bookkeeping tasks under supervision 

• Communicating clearly with clients and colleagues regarding deadlines 

• Developing technical and professional skills through study and on‑the‑job training

About you:

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience: 

• Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 4-9 including English and Maths and excellent academic record including A Levels  

• Degree – 2:1 or 2:2

• Motivated, keen to learn and develop a career in accounting

• Confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office 

• Good orgnisation and time management 

• Clear communication skills 

• Strong attention to detail 

• Organised with the ability to manage deadlines 

• Professional and reliable approach
