Mechanical Design Engineer - Graduate

Experience Required

About You

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Manufacturing / Design or similar)

• Strong and creative problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach

• Familiarity with CAD tools – ideally Solidworks although strong candidates with relevant CAD skills will be considered.

• Good understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes

• Effective communication and teamwork skills

• A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and develop

• Ability to commute on a regular basis to our Barlborough site

• Someone who is looking to grow their skills, learn and adapt and expand their skillset.

Desirable Skills

• Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment

• Knowledge of industry standards (BS8888 & GD&T) and compliance requirements

• Exposure to project work and structured engineering processes

• Understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement techniques

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, and optimisation of engineering solutions

• Design and develop 3D models, concepts and supporting data

• Produce technical drawings, specifications, and documentation

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including customers, suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and project management

• Assist with problem-solving and root cause analysis

• Participate in testing, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, safety, and quality requirements

• Generate creative design work that integrates with Electronics, Electrical and Software requirements.
