Graduate Systems Engineer role supporting the design, development, testing and commissioning of bespoke hardware and software systems, with hands-on experience in LabVIEW, system integration and technical problem-solving.

Overview

Are you a recent graduate looking to launch your career in systems engineering? Do you have a passion for engineering and solving technical problems?

At TBG Solutions, we don’t just deliver solutions, we build partnerships that drive real impact. We’re looking for a talented and motivated Graduate Systems Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the beginning of their engineering career who is keen to develop their technical skills, gain hands-on experience and work on real-world engineering projects across a range of highly regulated and performance-critical industries.

We’re TBG Solutions, and we operate nationally, providing test, measurement and control services. We work with some of the most demanding industries in the world, including automation, aerospace, medical and defence, helping our customers understand their requirements and engineer robust solutions that combine hardware and software.

At TBG, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and develop your knowledge across the complete systems engineering lifecycle. From understanding customer requirements and developing software through to testing, integration and commissioning, you’ll gain valuable practical experience across a wide range of technologies and applications.

The opportunity:

As a Graduate Systems Engineer, you will support the design, development, testing and commissioning of bespoke engineering solutions.

You’ll work as part of a multi-skilled engineering team, learning how to turn customer requirements into practical, reliable solutions. A key part of the role will involve developing software using National Instruments LabVIEW, alongside interfacing with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) instrumentation, custom-designed hardware and other software technologies.

You don’t need to be an expert when you join us. What matters is that you have a strong engineering foundation, a willingness to learn and the enthusiasm to develop your career.

With support and mentoring from experienced members of the TBG team, you’ll progressively take on greater responsibility as your skills and confidence develop.

Experience Required

Who we’re looking for:

We’re not expecting you to have years of industry experience. Instead, we’re looking for someone with the potential, enthusiasm and attitude to become an excellent Systems Engineer. You could be a recent graduate, or approaching graduation, with a degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

We’d particularly like to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • A degree, or equivalent qualification, in Systems Engineering, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics.

  • An interest in software development, systems engineering, test, measurement or control.

  • Some experience with LabVIEW, whether gained through university, an academic project, placement, internship or personal project.

  • A basic understanding of software development principles and structured problem solving.

  • An analytical approach and the ability to investigate and resolve technical problems.

  • An interest in understanding how hardware and software systems interact.

  • A willingness to learn new technologies and develop your engineering knowledge.

  • A genuine passion for engineering and an ambition to build a long-term career in systems engineering.

It would be advantageous, but is not essential, if you have:

  • Completed an engineering project involving hardware and software integration.

  • Previous industrial placement, internship or work experience within an engineering environment.

  • An interest in the aerospace, defence, medical or automation industries.

Most importantly, we’re looking for graduates who are curious, motivated and excited by the opportunity to learn. If you don’t meet every requirement but believe you have the potential to succeed in the role, we would still encourage you to apply.
