Your next role
Contracts, Commissioning and Business Assurance (CCBA) works across the Council’s Operations directorate, supporting front‑line services to deliver high‑quality outcomes for Swindon’s residents.
We provide expert procurement support, practical contract management guidance, robust health and safety governance, business assurance and project management. Our work underpins the effective commissioning of services provided directly to residents, making this an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that supports delivery at pace and helps improve everyday experiences across the borough.
This graduate role supports the delivery of effective health and safety governance across the Council’s Operations services. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will help monitor health and safety performance, support compliance with statutory requirements, maintain risk registers and analyse data to inform decision‑making. You will also contribute to audits, incident reporting, inspections and initiatives that promote a positive and proactive safety culture across operational services.

Key skills and qualifications:
A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
An interest in health and safety, risk management and compliance, with good organisational skills and the ability to analyse data and communicate clearly
Willingness to work towards a recognised health and safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH General Certificate
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
The team operates a hybrid working model with all practitioners expected to be in the office for a minimum of two days per week.
