Graduate Geotechnical Engineer role supporting ground investigations, geotechnical analysis, and foundation design for major UK energy and infrastructure projects.
The Opportunity
Join our 2027 Graduate Programme as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer in either Manchester , Warrington , Reading , London or one of our Scottish offices, where you will be part of a market-leading Energy & Resources team.
About The Role
As a graduate engineer, you will balance technical learning with practical project delivery to support key geotechnical and infrastructure projects across the UK. You will sit within a growing national team of dedicated specialists, gaining exposure to a wide range of geotechnical skills from site investigation and ground characterisation through to technical design.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the preparation of detailed specifications for ground investigations.
Analysing geological data and writing Ground Investigation Reports (GIRs).
Conducting geotechnical design calculations for foundations, slope stability, or earthworks.

The applicable professional qualifications for this role are Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or Chartered Geologist (CGeol) status with the Geological Society of London (GSL) .
Your Impact
In this role, you will help lay the groundwork for essential UK energy and infrastructure developments. Supporting projects across Transmission & Distribution as well as Water & Gas, your contribution to ground characterisation, site investigations, and foundational design will directly ensure structural safety and resilience.
Working alongside experienced engineers and geologists, your day-to-day efforts will translate complex subsurface data into deliverable engineering solutions, leaving a positive and lasting legacy for the communities we serve.
