A 3–9 month Landscape Architecture Internship at SLR focused on working on planning, design, and sustainability projects across the natural and built environment.
Job Description
At SLR we believe strongly in the influence of landscape architecture to shape and lead our interaction with the natural and built environment, in a way that is responsible and innovative, helping to tackle the climate emergency and set the agenda for a more sustainable way of living.
The role
An exciting opportunity for you to join for a 3 or 9 month internship in our Edinburgh office working alongside other experienced and passionate landscape architects, this role offers the chance to get involved in wide range of landscape planning, masterplanning and design projects across various sectors, with a focus on natural and built environment.
These projects are located throughout the UK and Ireland, with a range of public and private sector clients, some at the early planning stages, others moving towards implementation and some already on site. This array of opportunity would allow you to further develop your career in Landscape Architecture and gradually focus in on a chosen field.
We aim to introduce you to project and client work early on, maximising your performance in your role and kick-starting your career, whilst providing hands-on support and mentorship at all stages.
The Place team

We work across a range of sectors and cover an array of specialisms, but all aligning on one key principle; to protect and improve the natural and built environment, driven by sustainability. Where possible we work together to shape and design places in a creative and design-led way, whilst also addressing further challenges such as housing delivery, climate resilience, biodiversity net gain and net zero to name just a few.
Place is a fundamental component of the national planning and development agenda. It is critical to the creation of sustainable, well-designed places where people want to live, work, learn and play.
