The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Industrial Engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain real-world experience working on practical engineering projects that make a tangible difference on the shop floor.
You’ll be involved in the design and implementation of new processes, jigs, fixtures and stillages, supporting new product introduction and continuous improvement activities across the business.
What you’ll be doing
As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of engineering activities, including:
Designing jigs and fixtures to support manufacturing processes
Designing stillages for safe and efficient material handling
Supporting the implementation of new manufacturing processes
Assisting engineers with design and improvement projects
Working with and supporting external contractors where required
Contributing to projects ranging from small design improvements to larger-scale machine or process developments
This role offers excellent learning opportunities and exposure to real industrial engineering challenges.
What We’re Looking For
Currently studying towards an engineering-related degree (minimum expected 2:2)
A strong interest in manufacturing and industrial engineering
Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities
Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills
Clear and effective communication skills
Experience using CAD software is desirable
Basic understanding or experience with hand tools is advantageous
An interest in project management or process improvement
