Evaluates potential data centre sites through site appraisals, due diligence, market research and planning assessments, supporting the development of large-scale infrastructure projects.

ABOUT RHAELM
RHAELM is the sovereign AI cloud built to accelerate secure AI deployment at scale, combining power and infrastructure pipelines with global capability and local, in-country operations. Headquartered in London, with deployments across Europe and APAC, we deliver ring-fenced compute, networking, and storage infrastructure alongside a sovereign platform and flexible Bare Metal, Kubernetes, and AI-as-a-Service models. Focused on regulated and mission-critical sectors, we give organisations sovereign control over their AI infrastructure, platform, and data.

THIS ROLE
AI is driving a major build-out of digital infrastructure, and RHAELM is developing the data centres behind its sovereign AI cloud, with large-scale projects across Europe and APAC. The pace is fast and the projects are large, so graduates get stuck in from day one. You will work on live projects across several markets, join site visits and partner meetings, and produce analysis that feeds real decisions.

As a Graduate Development Analyst, you will help find and assess the sites that become RHAELM’s next data centres, working on site appraisal, due diligence and market research, and see how an early-stage opportunity becomes a deliverable project. You will learn directly from people who have developed and delivered major infrastructure, with plenty of room to take on more as you find your feet.

You will report to the Senior Development Manager and be based in London, with a minimum of three days a week in the office. This role can be filled immediately, and we can be flexible on start date for the right candidate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help assess prospective sites, gathering and analysing information on land, power, planning and other constraints

  • Support due diligence and concept design workstreams, tracking consultant deliverables and checking them for completeness

  • Research markets, planning and permitting frameworks to inform site selection

  • Help maintain programmes, risk registers and stage-gate reporting for development sites

  • Contribute to live data centre projects across multiple sites and markets from your first weeks

  • Support work across the wider infrastructure team as priorities shift, building breadth beyond your own area

  • Build and maintain the trackers, models and analysis the team relies on, using AI tools to work faster and to a higher standard

  • Prepare materials and record actions for internal and partner meetings, workshops and site visits

  • Take tasks through from start to finish, flag issues early, and agree development objectives with your line manager

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience after graduation, including graduate schemes, internships, placements or other relevant work

  • A technical or analytical project, from study or work, where you gathered and analysed data and presented recommendations

  • Experience working in a team to deadlines

  • Exposure to energy, infrastructure, engineering consultancy, property development or construction is preferable

  • Exposure to data centres or power networks is helpful but not required

SKILLS

  • Confident with Excel, and keen to learn new tools, including mapping and project controls software

  • Understands what current AI tools can and cannot do, and how to apply them to research, analysis and day-to-day work

  • Clear written and verbal communication

  • Organised and proactive, taking ownership of tasks and following them through

  • Curious and quick to learn, and comfortable in a fast-moving start-up where priorities change

  • Adaptable, and comfortable working across teams, cultures and time zones

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree (2:1 or equivalent) in engineering, planning, geography, environmental science, quantity surveying or a related discipline; applicants from other disciplines with a strong analytical or technical grounding will also be considered

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline an advantage

  • Student or graduate membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS, RTPI, ICE or IET) an advantage
