Based at Pye Homes, this entry-level land and planning role focuses on supporting the full residential development lifecycle by assisting with financial appraisals, planning applications, and project risk management for sustainable community developments.
Pye Homes is a long-established housing developer with a 98-year heritage of delivering high-quality new homes across Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties. Since joining the Blenheim Estate in 2018, the company has strengthened its focus on legacy-led placemaking, creating sustainable communities through landmark developments including Park View and Welborne Garden Village.
Taking a partnership-led and long-term approach to development, Pye Homes works collaboratively with landowners, local authorities, and communities to unlock the full potential of each site. Building on strong foundations in Oxfordshire and Hampshire, the business is now expanding its search for new opportunities across west Surrey, Berkshire, and Buckinghamshire.
The role offers exposure across the full development lifecycle, supporting financial appraisals, viability assessments, and due diligence on new land opportunities. Responsibilities include coordinating technical, legal, and commercial inputs; assisting with planning applications and development strategies; and helping manage planning programmes, milestones, and project risks.
The position also involves working closely with Technical, Commercial, and Sales teams to support the transition from planning through to pre-construction, ensuring projects are well coordinated and delivered efficiently.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who can bring the right skills and mindset to the role. You might not meet all the criteria, and that’s okay, transferable skills and experience are highly valued.
A degree (or equivalent) in Real Estate, Planning, Property Development, Land Management, Geography, or a related discipline.
A full UK driving licence and access to a car. The role involves regular site visits and travel across our heartlands and into surrounding counties.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build relationships across all levels.
An analytical mindset, with the ability to weigh up opportunities, spot risks, and reach a clear view.
Organised and able to juggle multiple priorities without losing sight of the detail.
Commercial curiosity and a genuine interest in how residential development works, from land through planning into delivery.
A proactive, can-do attitude and a real appetite to learn, take on responsibility, and grow with the business.
Resilience and adaptability, comfortable working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.
A collaborative approach, working seamlessly with colleagues across technical, commercial, and delivery teams.
Desirable:
A placement year, internship, or other work experience in property, planning, real estate, or construction.
Student or affiliate membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RTPI, RICS).
