Plymouth City Council is looking for an individual to join our Business Support team as an apprentice, offering an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience while working towards a recognised Level 3 qualification.

We are looking for an individual who is keen to learn, takes a professional approach to their work, and is comfortable engaging with customers in a face-to-face setting. About the role

This role provides a varied and rewarding experience, combining office-based administrative support within Legal Services as well as direct engagement with members of the public supporting Business Support. You will contribute to the efficient running of the services by undertaking a range of administrative tasks, alongside supporting customers with queries, including Blue Badge applications.

 

Working as part of a supportive team, you will complete a L3 Business Administrator apprenticeship with The Focus Training Group. Full on-the-job training will be provided, along with ongoing support throughout your apprenticeship to help you build valuable knowledge, skills, behaviours and experience.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide administrative support to the Legal and Business Support Teams

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records

  • Producing notetaking document from recordings of meetings

  • Support the processing of applications and documentation

  • Input and maintain information on internal systems

  • Provide front-line support to customers in library settings

 

What we offer
This is a challenging and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to play an integral part in delivering high quality services to our customers and internal client whilst gaining a L3 qualification with a local provider.

Over the duration of the apprenticeship, you will work 4 days on the job and be allocated protected study time one day a week.   

The service operates on a flexible working basis, with a blend of home working and office based work at Ballard House and other appropriate Plymouth City Council locations.

 

Please note: due to the apprenticeship element of this role, this post is not suitable for job share.
