Typical Activities
Working within our Delivery team, the Cyber & Infrastructure Graduate will join our 12-month Graduate Scheme in September 2027, gaining hands-on experience across infrastructure, cloud, networking, automation and cyber security.

You will:

• Assist with the design, development and implementation of functionality across existing systems.

• Support the deployment, configuration and maintenance of secure infrastructure environments.

• Monitor and troubleshoot Linux, networking, cloud and virtualised platforms.

• Contribute to incident investigations, root cause analysis and the resolution of technical issues.

• Work alongside engineering teams to diagnose and resolve customer technical issues.

• Support the transition of solutions into operational service, including documentation and knowledge transfer.

• Gain experience across the full system lifecycle, from requirements through to testing and commissioning.

• Investigate emerging tools and technologies and explore how they can be incorporated into our systems.

• Work within multidisciplinary teams using Agile methodologies and contribute to sprint activities.

• Contribute to STEM outreach activities, helping to create new initiatives and represent PentenAmio at events.

What we're looking for
We don't expect applicants to have experience with all of the technologies listed below. We're looking for graduates with a strong foundation, curiosity and a willingness to learn.

• A minimum 2:1 degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science or a related subject.

• Familiarity with Linux operating systems, ideally RHEL.

• Understanding of core networking concepts, including IP addressing, common network protocols and VLANs.

• Awareness of cloud computing technologies and services, such as AWS.

• An understanding of core cyber security principles and secure system configuration.

• Familiarity with scripting or automation, such as Bash or Python.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.

• Enthusiasm for technology and a willingness to learn and work with new technologies.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Good time management, self-motivation and ownership of your deliverables.

Desirable

• Experience with virtualisation or hypervisors, such as VMware or Proxmox.

• Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker or Podman.

• Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible or Terraform.

• Familiarity with networking technologies, including Cisco devices such as firewalls, routers and switches.

• Awareness of security technologies such as VPNs, WAFs, proxies, IDS/IPS or SIEM platforms.

• Experience with tools such as Splunk, ELK or Grafana for analysing and visualising infrastructure or security data.

Qualifications & Eligibility

To be eligible for this position you must:

• Hold or expect to achieve a minimum 2:1 degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science or a related subject; and

• Be a British citizen; and

• Hold or be eligible for UK National Security Vetting (NSV) - SC level clearance.
