At Peabody, we’re committed to helping people flourish by providing high-quality homes and creating sustainable communities. Our Development directorate plays a vital role in delivering new homes and regeneration projects that make a real difference.
We’re now looking for an Assistant Development Manager (Land & Partnerships) to join our team and support the delivery of an exciting pipeline of development opportunities.
The Role
As our Assistant Development Manager, you’ll support the Land & Partnerships team in identifying, assessing, and progressing development opportunities. Working across a variety of projects, you’ll gain exposure to the full development lifecycle - from site identification and feasibility through to planning and handover.
You’ll work closely with experienced colleagues, consultants, and partners, helping to ensure projects remain viable, deliverable, and aligned with our strategic goals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at an early stage in their career looking to build experience in development, housing, and regeneration within a supportive, high-performing team.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting the appraisal of development opportunities, including site assessments, financial appraisals, and market research alongside other administrative functions
Assisting in managing projects through early stages, including feasibility, design development, and planning
Coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, including consultants and internal stakeholders
Contributing to procurement processes for land and partnership opportunities
Supporting governance processes, including preparing reports and presenting information for internal approvals
Helping to manage budgets, risks, and project timelines
Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external partners
Supporting the delivery of projects that meet quality, cost, programme, and safety expectations
About You
You’ll be motivated, organised, and keen to build your career in development and housing.
The role would be suitable for a recent graduate from a real estate or construction related degree with a commitment to continued professional development.
You’ll enjoy working in a collaborative environment and be confident contributing to a range of activities across multiple projects.
We’re looking for:
A strong interest in housing, development, or construction, with a desire to build a career in the sector
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
A proactive approach, with a willingness to learn and take ownership of your work
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across different parts of the business
Proficiency in Microsoft Office – including strong Excel skills and general numeracy.
Some understanding of the housing or property market (desirable but not essential)
