Manages and improves railway inspection technology products by supporting customers, monitoring product performance, coordinating feature development, preparing documentation and testing machine learning models and positioning data.

Role Summary

As Graduate/Junior Product Manager, you’ll start by learning our products, especially AIVR, inside out. Once you know them well, you’ll use that knowledge to help shape where they go next.

AIVR (Automated Intelligent Video Review) is our end-to-end system for capturing, storing and analysing video and imagery of the railway. Cameras fitted to trains record the track and its surroundings, and the footage is uploaded to the web-based AIVR Platform.

There, engineers can review, measure, annotate and report on what they see without going on site. The wider product suite includes thermal imaging to spot electrical faults, line-scanning of track condition, and machine learning that automatically detects track components and defects. AIVR is used by organisations for inspection, investigations, access planning and condition reporting of the railway, as well as rapidly alerting users to high priority, significant rail defects.

This is a varied role that sits between our technology and our customers in the rail industry. Some days you’ll be demonstrating our products to customers. Other days you’ll be writing documentation, building reports for customers, or checking that our machine learning models and positioning data are accurate.

You don’t need to have done this kind of job before. If you have the right attitude and aptitude, or skills that transfer, we’d like to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the product and the customer: become our expert on AIVR and our other products, including how they solve real problems for customers. Along the way, learn what our customers need and build your knowledge of the rail industry.

  • Work with customers: present and demonstrate our products to customers, and make sure what we offer fits their needs.

  • Monitor and report: keep an eye on how the products are performing and create custom reports for individual customers.

  • Help shape the product: take ownership of specific features and project milestones, making sure what we build delivers measurable value.

  • Support the wider team: write clear, high-quality documentation.

  • Check if our data is accurate: test our machine learning models and positioning data by comparing their results against verified real-world information (known as “ground truth”).

Personal Qualities

Essential

  • A degree, or an equivalent mix of education and real-world experience.

  • A genuine interest in at least one of these areas: software development, electronics and systems engineering, or the rail industry.

  • The ability to learn quickly and explain technical detail accurately.

  • Strong communication skills in writing, on the phone, and in person.

  • Good analytical skills, and the ability to carry out tests thoroughly.

  • A sharp eye for detail and good organisation.

  • A proactive, collaborative approach focused on getting results.

  • Confidence with technology, including MS Office or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets).

  • A practical approach: precise when the work needs it, and flexible when things change.

Desirable

  • An interest in, or knowledge of, rail.

  • Experience in a product or technical support role.

You would be a valued part of a small but growing team where your ideas and opinions are valued as we continue the exciting journey of One Big Circle.
