At Nexperia Manchester we are expanding our Semiconductor Etch and Implant Process Engineering Team. In this role, you will play a key part in sustaining daily production while driving long-term improvement projects across one of the most complex areas of the wafer fab. This is a great chance to work in a dynamic environment covering many processing technologies, offering a clear development path.
This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer with semiconductor experience, or a high potential graduate (Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or related discipline) looking to develop deep technical expertise in dry etch, implant and associated process technologies.
What you will do
As a Process Engineer at Nexperia you will split your time between reactive sustaining work and proactive project delivery with responsibilities that include:
Yield, Capability & Performance Improvement
Sustaining and improving mechanical and electrical yields to meet departmental targets
Monitoring and improving Cpk levels across all processes, including coordinating R&R studies on metrology equipment
Ensuring process performance is reviewed, tracked and reported in line with factory policy
Continuous Improvement & Development Projects
Delivering technical improvement projects focused on yield, cost, throughput, ease of manufacture and process capability
Supporting new product and platform development through process development activities
Documentation & Compliance
Generating and maintaining accurate Wafer Fab Operator Instructions
Ensuring full adherence to departmental procedures and quality standards
What you will need
Semiconductor Industry experience as a Process Engineer or a strong academic background in a related field as a graduate
HND or Degree in a relevant STEM discipline (degree preferred)
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams
Great priority management and the ability to work in high pressure environments
Competent with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Ability to work a rotating shift pattern of 12-hour shifts including (2 weeks of days and 1 week of nights)
Right to work within the UK
Desirable Experience:
Experience in Etch & Implant Process Engineering exposure
