Position Summary
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Hardware Engineering team based in Dundee. This is a multi discipline team developing and supporting complex Mechatronic devices used in banking machines (ATMs) that are deployed worldwide.
We are seeking an Graduate Test Engineer who will work as part of a cross functional design team on development projects that deliver new devices and improvements for our 24/7 high availability solutions.
The role will involve the planning and execution of testing and the analysis and reporting of results using the latest technology and data driven continuous improvement principles. Basic hands-on mechanical and electronics skills would be advantageous to assist in the setup and build of rigs.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated team player able to demonstrate good analytical and problem solving skills, understand the importance of attention to detail and have excellent written and spoken communications skills.
Graduate Test Engineer
The successful candidate will be a highly focused, self-motivated individual who already has a keen interest in electromechanical devices and wants to extend their problem solving knowledge and skills.
You should have some knowledge and understanding of:
Test planning and execution
Data analysis and reporting (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI etc.)
Statistical analysis
Electromechanical systems
National Instruments LabVIEW software
Basic mechanical and electronics practical skills (assembly, soldering etc.)
Basic understanding of motors, sensors and control
Basic understanding software testing and scripting
Qualifications
Degree in one of the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Computing/Software, Physics or related subject
Relevant Work experience in a similar engineering role would be an advantage
Key Responsibilities
With the support and mentoring from our senior engineers:
Develop and execute test plans for the evaluation of early design concepts
Capture, analysis and reporting of test data and results
Setup and build of concept test rigs to support the rapid development cycles.
Support the efficient production, test, qualification and integration of new designs
Undertake testing and debugging of our design, ensuring that the design meets the design specification
Provide support on product design issues and product improvement (including engineering design, documentation and configuration control)
