A graduate financial planning role progressing from administration to paraplanning and financial advice, with one-to-one mentoring and fully funded professional qualifications.
Are you looking for more than just a graduate job?
Join us and start building a career in financial planning, with one-to-one mentoring from a Certified and Chartered Financial Planner, fully funded professional qualifications and a clear route to becoming a Chartered Financial Planner within a few years.
This role is ideal for a new or fairly recent graduate in a financial planning, finance, economics, law, accounting or similar field looking for a clear pathway to a career in a relationship-led boutique financial planning firm where quality, client care and work-life balance are genuinely valued.
The role will initially involve providing mostly administrative support to the team, as the best way to learn the business from the ground up. As your experience grows, you will be given increasing levels of responsibility and the opportunity to move into a paraplanner role. Once qualified to Diploma status, you will become authorised as an adviser and once deemed competent, start to look after clients.
Throughout your time, you will work closely with our Managing Director, a Chartered Financial Planner, author and financial planning podcast host, learning our approach to lifestyle financial planning and client care.
Development Pathway
The role is designed to progress in stages, starting with administration, moving into paraplanning, and ultimately developing into a Financial Planner, with full support for professional qualifications along the way.
Stage 1: Foundation (approx. 12 months)
Initially you will be:
Supporting advisers and paraplanners with day-to-day administration
Client onboarding and maintaining accurate client records
Liaising with clients, product providers and platforms
Managing correspondence and documentation in line with FCA requirements
Learning software programs
Assisting with the continual improvement of our systems & processes
Providing office administration and assisting with other projects within the business including marketing, events, research and reporting.
Studying towards Diploma level.
Stage 2: Development (a further approx. 18 months)
Adopting paraplanning responsibilities, to include:
Conducting research on products, funds, and solutions
Cashflow modelling and analysis
Shaping recommendations by discussing proposals with the financial planner
Writing recommendation reports and planning recommendations
Supporting the planner to manage, implement and report on tax year end planning.
Continuing to study and achieve Diploma status.
Stage 3: – Financial Planner (Long-Term Progression)
Once qualified to Diploma level and demonstrating competence, start taking responsibility for some client relationships.
Deliver regulated financial advice under supervision, then independently
Continue studying to achieve Chartered Financial Planner status.
Skills & Attributes
We are looking for someone who has:
A minimum qualification of degree level involving strong numeracy and literacy skills (possibly law, accounting, management, finance)
A desire to learn and develop yourself within the financial planning profession
Emotional intelligence, warmth and the ability to build trust with clients
Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
Be highly organised, methodical and analytical
A proactive, motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Confidence using technology
