A Day in the Life
Join Medtronic's Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) team and gain hands-on experience supporting materials management operations within a hospital environment. This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to develop knowledge of healthcare supply chains, inventory management, process improvement, stakeholder collaboration, and data analysis.
Working alongside experienced professionals, you will build practical business administration skills while completing a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship and contributing to the delivery of safe and efficient patient care.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
• Support inventory management activities, including ordering, receiving, storing, and tracking stock within the hospital environment.
• Assist with maintaining accurate inventory and master data records within inventory management systems.
• Help prepare daily, weekly, and ad hoc reports to support operational performance and stock management.
• Support cycle counts, stock reviews, and activities aimed at reducing product obsolescence and expiry risks.
• Assist with product launches, product changes, and inventory updates by coordinating with internal teams and hospital stakeholders.
• Help identify process improvement opportunities and support initiatives that enhance materials management and user experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• GCSE Grade A*-C in Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Interest in business administration, supply chain, healthcare operations, or data analysis.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks and prioritise workload.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with different stakeholders.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and willingness to learn in a professional environment.
Would be a plus:
• Previous experience in a healthcare, hospital, logistics, or customer-facing environment.
• Awareness of inventory management, supply chain, or data analysis concepts.
• Interest in process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
