Rotate across aerodynamics, design, racing, and performance engineering teams to solve technical challenges and contribute to Formula 1 performance.

Our two-year Engineering Graduate Programme is designed to develop engineering talent, strengthen our internal knowledge and create the future leaders of McLaren Racing.

Starting in September 2027, you will rotate through different areas of our Engineering team, including Aerodynamics, Design, Racing and Performance. You will gain broad experience of how a Formula 1 team operates while contributing to our performance on and off the track.

Applications will close on Wednesday 7th October. There will be a second round of assessment sent on the 9th October to be completed by the 12th October.

The graduate assessment day will be at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking on Thursday 12th November 2026. If you are selected to attend the assessment day, you will be notified the week prior.

 

What You'll Do

  • Complete placements across a range of Engineering functions, including Aerodynamics, Design, Racing and Performance.

  • Apply your technical knowledge to meaningful engineering challenges and contribute to team performance.

  • Support race weekends throughout the season as required.

  • Manage your work effectively, communicate progress and report outcomes to relevant stakeholders.

  • Share your knowledge, learn from colleagues and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • A degree in Engineering, Mathematics or a scientific discipline, with a minimum 2:1 classification or equivalent.

  • General computing skills and software knowledge relevant to engineering environments.

  • An interest in developing practical engineering solutions, supported by strong problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of relevant technical tools, such as CAD software for design-based placements, would be useful.

  • A passion for motorsport; previous motorsport experience is welcome but not essential.
