As a Graduate Systems Engineer within our Systems team at Denham, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to develop the complex safety-critical systems behind Martin-Baker's world-leading ejection seats and aircraft safety equipment.
From capturing requirements to supporting verification and validation, you'll gain hands-on experience across the full systems engineering lifecycle while contributing to products trusted to perform when it matters most.

The Opportunity
As a Graduate Systems Engineer, you'll become part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for developing complex aerospace systems throughout the engineering lifecycle.
Working alongside experienced Systems, Mechanical, Electronics and Software Engineers, you'll apply systems engineering principles to support the design, integration, verification and ongoing airworthiness of safety-critical products. You'll gain exposure to a broad range of engineering activities while developing your technical knowledge through structured learning, mentoring and real project experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious graduate looking to build a long-term career in systems engineering within a world-leading aerospace organisation.
This role is based at our Denham site, with hybrid working considered following the probation period (6 months).
What You'll Do
Apply systems engineering processes and methodologies throughout the product lifecycle.
Capture, analyse and document stakeholder needs and system requirements.
Develop and maintain system and sub-system requirements, ensuring full traceability.
Support system architecture, design and modelling activities.
Contribute to verification and validation activities, from proof-of-concept through to qualification testing.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop integrated engineering solutions.
Provide technical support and advice to internal stakeholders.
Contribute to internal and external design reviews through written reports and technical presentations.
Support the ongoing airworthiness of Martin-Baker products.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering quality, safety and business performance.
What We're Looking For
A 1st or 2:1 accredited degree in a relevant STEM discipline.
Knowledge of systems engineering principles across the engineering lifecycle.
Understanding of requirements capture, definition, decomposition, verification and traceability.
Experience working on complex engineering projects through academic, industrial placement or project work.
Knowledge of engineering lifecycle phases and technical design reviews.
Understanding of UK Defence Standards, US MIL-STDs or similar engineering frameworks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
A proactive mindset with a genuine enthusiasm for learning, developing and taking ownership of your work.
Share and demonstrate the Martin-Baker values.
Desirable
Experience within aerospace, defence or other highly regulated industries.
Knowledge of SysML and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Understanding of modelling tools for complex engineering systems.
Experience using simulation, scripting or engineering software tools.
Knowledge of system integration, verification and validation activities.
Understanding of ejection seat systems or other safety-critical products.
