This is a graduate engineering placement (short-term summer role) in the UK energy infrastructure sector. You’ll support real construction projects in electricity transmission, especially a battery storage and substation project.

Where will you be working? 

At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.  We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. 

This role will be within our Electricity Transmission department. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.   

As part of our team, you’ll be at the forefront of the transition to net zero, working with not just those around you, but across the Group- sharing learnings to deliver essential infrastructure services for life.

What will you be doing? 

 We are looking for a motivated Graduate Engineer to join our team for four months over the summer. This is an excellent opportunity for either a student studying or a recent graduate to build practical experience, work on a real project and develop their technical and professional skills with support from an experienced team.

You will be involved in supporting the site works of a major transmission connected battery storage scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with multi-disciplinary teams to track progress across the construction site

  • Undertake measurement and as built survey works

  • Support in quality and activity tracking and management (including the use of CAD)

What you’ll bring

  • Working towards or achieved a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline

  • Valid UK driving licence.

  • Effective communication skills

  • Keen to learn with an interest in development and progression
