Why Accounting Advisory and Assurance?
We’re a specialist team that help businesses tackle a wide variety of complex accounting issues and offer the broadest range of advice. We give confidence by delivering assurance over non-financial areas. This allows businesses to adapt to demands, improve financial performance and act in the most sustainable way.
Life as an Accounting Advisory and Assurance graduate
You’ll join one of the four following areas:
The first is Accounting Advisory Services, where you’ll offer guidance to businesses on the latest developments in accounting standards. Translating their complex accounting issues into clear and expert advice.
Another of our teams is Sustainability Assurance. We help businesses to meet the assurance requirements of rapidly changing regulatory standards in this area. You’ll examine a variety of different topics, from greenhouse gas emissions through to waste, human rights, diversity and other non-financial metrics.
If you join our Controls Assurance team, you’ll assess how well our clients operate their business processes, helping them to become aware of potential risks and build customer confidence. You could be reviewing technology processes such as system access, data security and cyber resilience, or operational processes such as investment management and payroll, across a variety of industries.
And finally, in Transactions Assurance, you’ll help support businesses prepare for major transactions like mergers, acquisitions or listing on a public stock exchange.
Whichever team you join, you’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate closely with other KPMG teams including Financial and Technology Audit, Transaction Services, Consulting, Corporate Finance and Tax.

On this programme you'll study for the ACA qualification, or CA equivalent in Scotland, which will help you develop valuable technical skills, broad commercial understanding and in-depth knowledge of different industry sectors, empowering you to build an exciting and varied long-term career.
