Graduate Advisory & Consulting Pathway

Knight Frank Graduate Advisory & Consulting Surveyor role supporting clients with property valuation, asset management, strategic advisory, market analysis, financial modelling and property investment decisions.

About The Role

Join a graduate programme where you'll help clients solve complex property challenges, shape investment and asset strategies, and provide advice that influences important business decisions. Working alongside experienced surveyors and advisers, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of projects, clients and sectors from day one.

Our Advisory & Consulting pathway is designed for graduates who are interested in the strategic, analytical and advisory side of the property industry. Across this pathway, you will gain exposure to teams who help clients evaluate opportunities, manage risk and make informed decisions about property assets, portfolios and places.

Based in our Baker Street global headquarters in London, the programme consists of up to five six-month rotations across a range of specialist teams. These teams work with clients across commercial property, investment, the public sector, energy, restructuring and other complex real estate projects.

You could gain experience in areas such as valuation, asset management, portfolio solutions, strategic consultancy, market insights and specialist advisory services. Through these rotations, you'll develop an understanding of how property advice is shaped by market evidence, client objectives, financial considerations and wider trends affecting the built environment.

Unlike our Markets & Transactions pathway, which combines market insight and strategic advice with the execution of transactions and investment opportunities, this pathway focuses more heavily on valuation, analysis, performance and strategic recommendations. You'll help clients understand complex property challenges, evaluate opportunities and make informed decisions.

It is well suited to individuals who are curious about how property decisions are made, enjoy solving problems and interpreting data, and want to develop the technical, commercial and professional skills needed to advise clients with confidence.

We're dedicated to helping you fulfil your potential at Knight Frank, so learning and development are central to the programme. Each rotation will provide a unique learning experience and contribute towards your professional development.

Working alongside experienced surveyors and advisers on live projects and client work, you'll gradually take on greater responsibility while building the technical experience required to sit your Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). Successful completion of the APC will enable you to become a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), supporting your long-term career progression and professional network.

If you have obtained an RICS-accredited degree, you will aim to complete the graduate scheme and qualify as a surveyor in November 2029 (RICS Autumn Sitting).

If you do not have an RICS-accredited degree, we will support you to complete the RICS-accredited MSc in Real Estate via distance learning alongside your work. You will aim to complete the graduate scheme and qualify as a surveyor in March 2030 (RICS Spring Sitting).

Salary

£31,000 starting salary plus a £1,500 sign-on bonus, alongside a comprehensive benefits package including private medical insurance, an employee assistance programme, discounted gym membership, a cycle-to-work scheme and a range of retail and lifestyle discounts.

About You

You’ll have a genuine interest in property and the ambition to build a career in advisory, consulting, or valuation-related work. You may be interested in how property markets operate, how clients make investment or portfolio decisions, or how data, insight and commercial judgement are used to shape advice.

You will hold, or be on track to achieve, a 2:1 degree or above in any discipline. An RICS-accredited degree is advantageous, but we equally welcome applications from candidates studying non-RICS-accredited courses.

We're looking for people who are curious, analytical and collaborative, with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn. Strong numerical and problem-solving skills are important, as you'll be expected to interpret information, analyse market evidence, and develop evidence-based recommendations for clients.

What You Could Be Involved In

Across your rotations, you may gain exposure to a range of advisory and consulting disciplines, including:

• Valuation: Supporting the assessment of property and portfolio values for investment, lending, taxation and reporting purposes. You could analyse market evidence, inspect properties and help prepare valuation reports for investors, banks and occupiers.

• Property Asset Management: Helping clients maximise the performance of their property portfolios. You could support tenant communications, review lease agreements, analyse property performance data and assist with managing landlord and occupier relationships.

• Inspections & Surveys: Visiting properties to assess their condition and identify opportunities or risks. You could attend site inspections, gather property information and contribute to reports that inform client decisions.

• Strategic Advisory: Advising clients on investment, development and asset strategy decisions. You could research market trends, assess redevelopment opportunities and support recommendations for complex property projects.

• Negotiation: Supporting discussions between landlords, occupiers, investors and other stakeholders to achieve commercial objectives. You could help analyse comparable evidence, prepare client briefing materials and contribute to rent review, lease renewal or acquisition negotiations.

• Regulatory Compliance: Helping clients navigate regulatory, sustainability and ESG requirements. You could assess compliance risks, review environmental performance and support advice that helps clients meet changing industry standards and best practice.

• Reporting & Analysis: Preparing insight-led reports and presentations for a range of stakeholders. You could work with market research, financial analysis and data modelling to help inform investment, asset and business decisions.
