Commercial Property Graduate Programme at JLL, a 2–2.5-year trainee programme focused on property management, commercial real estate operations, lease management, client relationships, financial administration, site inspections, sustainability, and rotations into areas such as Agency, Capital Markets, Valuations, and Consulting while working toward RICS Chartered Surveyor status.

What this job involves:

Our graduate programme will provide you with first-hand experience while working towards a professional qualification.

You’ll join us on a 2-to-2.5-year trainee programme, working towards Commercial / General Practice Chartered Surveyor status with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Anyone with a degree can join this programme, irrespective of discipline, as we are focused on training you to becoming a qualified and well-rounded professional. If you do not have an RICS accredited Real Estate degree, you will complete a fully funded online master's degree (MSc) in Real Estate with the University of the Built Environment as part of the graduate programme. You will be fully supported by both JLL and the University throughout your academic journey.

You'll rotate around the business with a focus on commercial and corporate properties, including office spaces, industrial & logistics, and retail. Your first 12-month rotation will be within Property Management. Following this, possible rotations could include Agency, Capital Markets, Valuations, Residential, Work Dynamics, and Consulting.

What your day-to-day will look like during your first rotation:

  • Support and build client relationships with Global Investors by responding to property queries, coordinating strategic meetings with occupiers and clients, and maintaining accurate records of all communications and property documentation

  • Manage lease applications and occupier requests including Licences to Alter, reviewing lease terms to advise on feasibility, and helping prepare recommendations for senior surveyors on tenant matters

  • Contribute to financial and service charge management by reviewing rent and service charge reports for discrepancies, helping prepare budgets and reconciliations, processing supplier invoices and purchase orders, and maintaining financial trackers for utilities and income streams while applying RICS Professional Standards

  • Participate in property operations by attending site inspections, helping maintain property compliance documentation, and supporting works projects alongside senior team members

  • Support sustainability and ESG requirements by helping coordinate reporting, tracking compliance obligations, and contributing to strategic initiatives that enhance property performance

What you’ll get from us:

We know that your unique backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives help us think bigger, spark innovation and succeed together.

At JLL, we want everyone to feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to achieve their full potential, and here are just some of the ways we’ll make that happen.

  • Support from us – The Early Careers team will be with you every step of the way during your programme. Your manager and team will also be there to guide you day-to-day.

  • Support from your buddy – You’ll be paired with a peer on a similar pathway to you who will be there to answer any questions and guide you.

  • Training opportunities for everyone – No matter your experience or role, both our Early Careers and Learning teams will provide you with lots of ways to improve and develop your skills, from managing stakeholders and clients to report and pitch writing.

  • Surveying qualification support – You’ll take part in various workshops to build your knowledge and skills for your Chartership assessment. You will be designated a mentor who will support you throughout the programme

  • Dress for your day – Each day will be different, so we trust you to dress according to what you’re doing. For example, if you’re meeting clients then it’s important to dress smartly to reflect the great work we do, and we encourage you dress more casually when you don’t.

  • Competitive salary – As an accredited Living Wage employer, we are committed to paying you a wage that is fair and competitive to the industry we work in.

  • 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays each year – We encourage you take breaks from work and hope you use this time to recharge regularly throughout the year.

  • 2 paid volunteer days each year – We feel it’s important to give back to the communities around us. JLL set up events with specific charities and organisations which you can get involved with, such as our work with schools. Or you can use your days to support a charity or local organisation of your choice.

  • Wide range of employee benefits – You can take advantage of them, which include a well-being support and resources, exclusive discounts, pension, private medical healthcare, dental insurance, employee assistance programme, season ticket loan, cycle-to-work scheme, mortgage advice, and more.

  • You’ll be passionate and eager to contribute your thoughts, create fresh ideas, and challenge yourself to do more than you think you could

  • You’ll have an interest in the property industry and how we can shape its future

  • You’ll be able to connect with others easily and build strong relationships
