This structured 2-Year Graduate Development Programme offers rotational placements across Design, BIM, Commissioning, and Maintenance divisions to deliver large-scale high-voltage (HV) infrastructure.

The Role:
The Electrical Engineering Graduate role is a unique and exciting opportunity to join our Engineering Team on a permanent, full-time basis as part of our structured 2-Year Graduate Development Programme. You will take part in rotational placements across Design, BIM, Commissioning, and Maintenance, giving you a full understanding of how H&MV delivers large-scale electrical infrastructure projects.
Throughout the programme, you will gain hands-on experience, structured training, and one-to-one mentoring to develop both your technical and professional skills. As a CPD-accredited employer, we encourage all graduates to become members of Engineers Ireland and actively support you in progressing toward Chartered Engineer status.
This role is suited to recent or soon-to-be graduates who are driven, curious, and eager to build a long-term career in the high-voltage energy sector.
Responsibilities:
During the programme, you will be exposed to and trained in: The design of high-voltage (HV) electrical layouts and system architecture HV protection and control system design principles Reviewing and developing schematic drawings and single line diagrams (SLDs) Supporting HV system studies (including protection coordination, arc flash analysis, load flow, voltage regulation, and fault level analysis) Pre-commissioning and commissioning support of AIS, GIS and HIS substations.
Gaining exposure to live client and project meetings, representing H&MV as a graduate engineer Understanding project safety requirements and learning to work in line with H&MV’s safety-first culture Collaborating with cross-functional teams including BIM, Procurement, Project Management, and Site Supervision.
Requirements:
Recent graduate or final year student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment
Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a high level of attention to detail
Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a proactive attitude and ability to work on your own initiative
Willingness to travel or work on-site depending on the team rotation
Desire to progress professionally within the energy or high-voltage infrastructure industry
