A HR graduate programme focused on employee relations, recruitment, learning & development, and people operations within a large UK business.

The Role

If you're people-focused, curious about how organisations thrive, and excited by the idea of shaping positive workplace experiences, this is your opportunity to start your HR career strong. We're looking for motivated graduates to join our HR Graduate Development Programme – designed to give you broad, hands-on exposure across core HR disciplines and build strong foundations for a successful career in Human Resources within a dynamic, growing business.

You don't specifically need an HR degree to apply. What matters most is your interest in developing a career in HR, your ability to build relationships, and your desire to learn and progress. Based in Glasgow, you'll gain hands-on experience within our HR team, supporting Employee Relations in addition to working in Learning & Development, and within our Recruitment team.

You'll work closely with experienced HR professionals, managers, and employees across the business, contributing to real people initiatives from day one. By the end of the programme, you won't just understand HR, you'll have the confidence, capability, and experience to make a meaningful impact on our people and culture.

About You

What You'll Be Doing
• Supporting the HR team across key areas including employee relations, learning & development, and recruitment
• Assisting with employee relations matters such as absence management, disciplinaries, grievances, and performance management
• Supporting recruitment activity including screening applications, coordinating interviews, and onboarding new starters
• Helping to plan, coordinate, and evaluate training and development programmes
• Maintaining accurate employee records and supporting HR systems and data reporting
• Working with managers to support people initiatives and promote best practice
• Getting involved in HR projects that contribute directly to engagement, retention, and organisational effectiveness

What You'll Bring
We're looking for graduates who are passionate about starting a career in HR and eager to develop, including:

• A degree in any discipline, ideally within Business or HR
• A genuine interest in employment law, developing employees and attracting talent to a business
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• A confidential, ethical, and empathetic approach when dealing with sensitive people matters
• Good organisation and time management skills, with strong attention to detail
• The confidence to ask questions and challenge constructively
• A proactive and resilient mindset, with the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast paced environment
• A desire to develop a long term career in HR

GAP was established in 1969 by Gordon Anderson and the company is still family-owned and run by his sons Douglas and Iain.
