Fife Council Graduate Engineer (Roads & Lighting Contracts) role supporting the design, contract administration, supervision and delivery of road and lighting infrastructure works.

The team plays a key role in the delivery of an externally delivered works programme and associated administrative functions, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, Council policies and relevant legislation The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality service that helps maintain and improve the Council’s roads infrastructure.

Salary range, Single status FC7 placement depending on skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications. Permanent, based at Bankhead Central, Glenrothes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Consultant to meet agreed targets/priorities.

• Liaise directly with members of the public, councillors, etc.

• Liaise with other teams and other internal / external parties as necessary.

• Design and prepare contract documentation.

• Undertake contract supervision and administration.

• Assist in the monitoring of budgets and performance for various activities and provide information as required. 

• Produce reports and other documentation as required. 

• Ensure compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.

The Person

• You will be educated to SCQF level 10, which includes an Honours Degree preferably in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

• Be able to work as part of a team and independently.

• You should have good communication skills with experience in working with the public.

• You should have good IT and numerical skills.
