The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career, or a recent graduate, to build hands-on experience across a broad range of finance and accounting functions in a super dynamic environment.
The role will be based in our facility in Wallingford, and will require 4 days a week onsite.
Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely approval workflows
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
Post day-to-day bookkeeping entries and maintain accurate records in the accounting system
Prepare and execute payment runs, including supplier and vendor payments
Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular basis
Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports
Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to resolve billing or payment queries
Help ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant financial regulations
Support the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory filings
Assist with audits by preparing supporting documentation and schedules
Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the finance function
Requirements:
No prior work experience required, we welcome applications from recent graduates and career starters
A degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required where professional experience is not held
Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets; experience with accounting software is a plus
Experience with using LLMs (AI)
Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to working in a team
