BIM Graduate

As BIM Graduate, you will support the development and coordination of MEP models, construction drawings and project information from design review through construction and handover. You will report to the BIM Manager and work under the guidance of experienced BIM team members, alongside Engineering, Project and Site teams.

Purpose

Designer Group is seeking a BIM Graduate to develop their technical and project-delivery capability through structured training and practical project experience. The role will support the production of coordinated, buildable and quality-checked BIM information.

Your Key Responsibilities as a BIM Coordinator

  • Support the development and maintenance of detailed Revit MEP construction models.

  • Produce and amend construction drawings, views, schedules, tags and annotations using approved templates.

  • Run assigned clash tests and support the preparation of coordination reports and issue updates.

  • Read and interpret design drawings, schedules and technical information to complete assigned tasks.

  • Follow project BIM requirements, DG standards, naming conventions, metadata requirements and QA procedures.

  • Maintain project models, drawings and related BIM records within the agreed company and project CDEs.

  • Update drawing registers, production schedules, transmittals, trackers and other assigned delivery records.

  • Attend internal and project meetings, prepare and navigate relevant models and record assigned actions.

  • Work with BIM, Engineering, Project and Site teams to obtain the information required to complete assigned tasks.

  • Support site verification of the model using surveys, imagery, redlines and laser-scan data.

  • Assist with the development of as-built models, drawings, asset information and handover deliverables.

  • Complete assigned training and development activities and apply feedback to improve technical capability and quality.

Requirements

  • Relevant BIM, Engineering, Building Services or Construction qualification, trade background, apprenticeship or equivalent development route.

  • Foundational Revit capability demonstrated through education, training, project work or a technical portfolio.

  • Ability to read and produce basic technical drawings, schedules and construction information.

  • Basic awareness of MEP systems and an interest in construction and digital project delivery.

  • AutoCAD, Navisworks, ACC or other relevant software experience is advantageous but not essential.

  • Previous placement, site or construction-project experience is advantageous.

  • Willingness to attend project sites and travel where required.

  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, communication and willingness to learn.

Benefits

  • Practical experience on major M&E projects.

  • Exposure to BIM and digital construction technologies.

  • Mentoring from experienced BIM professionals.

  • Training and professional development.

  • Clear career progression within BIM and digital engineering.
