A graduate trainee programme combining a Master’s Degree in Social Work at Bangor University with practical experience supporting children and families in safeguarding and legal proceedings.
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated graduate to undertake a Master's Degree in Social Work at Bangor University, while gaining valuable practical experience within Conwy's Safeguarding and Legal Team (SALT).
SALT works closely with children, families, solicitors, CAFCASS officers and the Courts, supporting families through Care Proceedings where there are significant safeguarding concerns. As a Graduate Social Work Trainee, you will develop your knowledge and skills through a combination of academic study and hands-on experience, supported by experienced practitioners and managers throughout your journey.
This is a unique opportunity to learn within a specialist safeguarding service, gaining insight into statutory social work practice while working alongside highly skilled professionals committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
Upon successful completion of the qualification and registration with Social Care Wales, you will be appointed to a Social Worker post within SALT, enabling you to continue your professional career within Conwy's Children's Services.
As the masters course is bilingual, and the team also works throughout a bilingual area, the ability to communicate in Welsh and English is essential.
