About the role
Looking to start your career in HR systems development and people analytics? Want to make a real difference by helping shape how we use technology and data to support our workforce? We’re looking for a motivated graduate to join us as a Graduate Trainee in the People and Organisation Service, to work alongside our HR Systems Development and Integrations Officer on a 12-month, full-time, fixed-term contract.
In this role, you’ll build practical skills across HR systems, data reporting and service improvement. You’ll also be supported to complete an accredited PRINCE2 project management qualification and apply your learning to real service priorities.
What you’ll be doing:
Support the design, development, testing and maintenance of bespoke digital forms and workflows, working with users to understand requirements and improve digital processes.
Assist in the development, enhancement and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards, helping to ensure accurate, timely and meaningful data insight.
Work with colleagues across the People & Organisation service to support systems integration, data quality and the effective flow of information between digital tools and platforms.
Contribute to defined digital, data and improvement projects, supporting documentation, testing, user guidance and continuous improvement activity.
Develop technical, analytical and professional skills through supervised work, training and project involvement, supporting progression into a specialist digital, data or systems role.
Who we’re looking for
You’re curious, organised and enjoy developing and working with data. You like solving problems, learning new technologies and turning information into meaningful insights.
To be eligible for this graduate trainee opportunity, you’ll need:
A 2:1 degree or above, obtained within the last 3 years.
Foundational knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and an understanding of databases or SQL, with a willingness to develop these skills further
An understanding of how web based forms and systems operate, and the ability to engage with configuration, scripting, or data queries as required.
Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
What’s in it for you?
a 12-month paid opportunity (aiming to commence mid-September 2026)
a recognised project management qualification (PRINCE2)
professional support and mentorship
27 days of annual leave, plus 8 public holidays
hybrid working – subject to a suitable workspace, broadband connection, and service needs
flexi-time – where you can flex your working hours between 7:30 am and 7pm
the potential for a follow-on contract, subject to outstanding performance and available funding, which may include further support to gain a specialist professional qualification
