What will it take to be successful?

We're looking for aspiring development surveyors who are currently studying towards an RICS-accredited degree and are keen to develop their career within a leading Planning & Development consultancy. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of projects, working alongside experienced professionals who are passionate about shaping places and unlocking development opportunities for clients.

Whilst previous experience gained through placements, internships or work experience within the planning profession is advantageous, we're equally interested in individuals who demonstrate curiosity, initiative and a genuine enthusiasm for the built and natural environment.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, an analytical thinker and a proactive problem solver who enjoys working collaboratively to deliver positive outcomes for clients. You'll be motivated to learn, comfortable managing competing priorities and excited by the opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of planning projects within a dynamic and supportive team.

If you're eager to challenge yourself, develop your professional expertise and play a role in shaping the future of places and communities, we'd love to hear from you.

Candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, a collaborative approach to working with others, and proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite. Given the nature of the role and the need to travel to client sites and properties, a full UK driving licence is essential.

Our promise to you:

We offer a supportive team environment and the opportunity to develop your knowledge of all aspects of development surveying in our offices. Independence and individual responsibility will develop as candidates gain experience throughout the 3-year Graduate Programme.

At Carter Jonas, we're committed to supporting graduates throughout their professional development. Those working towards the APC will benefit from a structured training programme designed to develop the technical knowledge, professional competencies and confidence required to achieve chartership.

Our APC candidates receive support from dedicated counsellors and supervisors, alongside access to workshops and networking opportunities. Candidates also benefit from insights and guidance from recently qualified surveyors, helping them navigate the APC process with confidence.

This collaborative approach ensures candidates are well supported throughout their journey, while gaining exposure to a diverse range of work and experiences that contribute towards their professional development.

APC support and funding are available to those undertaking an eligible RICS-accredited pathway.
