Graduate Actuarial Analyst

Operating within Capita's Actuarial Investment Technical Centre, this remote-first graduate position combines advanced data analytics and spreadsheet modeling to calculate pension valuations, scheme accounting metrics, and risk management strategies.

Actuarial Analyst – Home based with occasional travel to our Leeds office. Capita are seeking a Graduate with some pensions experience to join our Actuarial Investment Technical Centre and start a career as an Actuary.

Study support will be available to study for the actuarial exams Who are we? We partner with our Trustees and are a team that have industry leading actuarial skills and bandwidth to help trustees tackle the core legal and regulatory responsibilities they must meet. Our team tailor sustainable and pragmatic solutions that enable our clients to mitigate risks and plan the future.

Job Description

What you will do:

• Calculations for actuarial valuations or other funding exercises 

• Specify scope of work and determine data requirements

• Specify data and information required for projects and liaise with suppliers of that information 

• Interrogation of data and pension scheme documents

• Calculations for pension scheme accounting (FRS,IAS/US GAAP)

• Specification of bases for individual and scheme funding calculations 

• Programming and running of actuarial valuation systems 

• Any other core routine tasks that are allocated to the ATC  

• Designing and running spreadsheet calculations 

• Drafting report, letters, memoranda and presentations  

• All of the above require data to checked/analysed/manipulated. Extensive use of actuarial valuation software will also form a large part of the role.

Your experience will include:

Essential

• A degree in a Mathematics related subject

• Some pensions experience either in a technical or administration role

• Advanced excel

• Looking to start a career as an Actuary
